Beth Rooney

I am a freelance photographer based in Chicago. I am especially drawn to documentary work for the opportunity it affords to make an extended study of various groups, cultures and lifestyles. I am also intrigued by food, starting at the farm and ending at the table. Food is a universal, but it offers a unique insight into traditions and cultures around the world.

After graduating from Ohio University in 2005 I traveled to Paranagua, Brazil with a grant I received from the university. Upon returning to the US I took an internship with Lauren Greenfield in Los Angeles. After leaving LA I returned to my hometown and have been working Chicago ever since! I was also lucky enough to attended Eddie Adams XX. My clients include: The New York Times, Saveur, The Chicago Tribune, Chicago Public Radio, Stern Magazine, the FADER, and others.
